General Information
What is the mission of the David Graeber Institute (DGI) Shop?
We started this shop to support our projects and share cool stuff with friends!
David loved wearing quirky t-shirts and carrying unique bags, and over time, we hope to rebuild his collection here.
Most of the things we wear are public statements. That’s why we’re happy to have more of them out in the world — on our streets and in our homes. There’s a massive luxury goods industry; we dream of offering a humble alternative.
These dreams include anti-war pajamas, biodegradable plastic bags, and a tarot deck for collective political magic.
Not everything will be ready at once, but we’re working on it — stay tuned!
How does shopping in the store support the Institute?
Every time you buy something here, you’re pitching in for all the wild and wonderful projects at the David Graeber Institute — from the Museum of Care to our websites and way beyond.
The money helps us:
- Work on David’s archive — currently, we’re transcribing his research from Madagascar, including audio cassettes and handwritten notebooks
- Coordinate the collaborative editing of David’s published and unpublished texts using MediaWiki
- Host free public lectures with people continuing David’s legacy
- Run open reading groups
- And we’re building a Museum of Care on an abandoned ship — not to hoard stuff, but to hand out the Survival Kit collection to people who need it most
Products & Availability
Are there any free downloadable materials available?
A must!
Most of our posters are already on our website and ready for you to download, print, and share. More contain quotes from David Graeber and his friends. Let’s fill the world with them!
We're also putting out the Visual Assembly napkins and other materials for free distribution. And at a4kids.org you can download and print doodle versions of children's books by David Graeber and Nika Dubrovsky.

Do you work with offline stores that want to distribute your products?
Yes! If you work in an offline store and have an opportunity to collaborate with us, we will send you a batch, or you can become our distributor, city, or country. We would be thrilled if you decided to offer a donation to our institute.
In general, we welcome any ideas and are always open to collaboration.

How is shipping calculated?
Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and the items in your cart.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, the shop offers international shipping. Do you want delivery to a region we don't officially support? Just reach out — we’ll try to make it happen together.
Returns & Refunds
Production Time:
Our standard production time is near 7 days from proof approval. Production times may vary depending on the product, order volume, or seasonal demand.
Shipping:
Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout based on the delivery method and location. We use third-party carriers to handle shipments. Delivery times depend on the shipping method and destination.
Delays:
We are not responsible for any delays in shipping once the product has been dispatched. Any delays caused by third-party carriers are beyond our control.
Damaged or Lost Items:
If your order is damaged during shipping or you do not receive your order, please contact us within 14 days of receipt. We will investigate the issue and, where necessary, offer a replacement in accordance with our returns policy.
